April 2009

Remember the previous entry I blog about WoW? I reached level 60 and I proudly blog about it. And today, I am proud to be level 71 (only 71 jeh… nothing proud to be honest).  This level 71 doesn’t come easy.

wowscrnshot_042909_130139

I reached level 70 within two weeks, that is considered VERY LONG given that I am a casual player. Easter break, I have all the time I want. My record is staying in front computer for 6 hours non stop. I definitely feel like shit when I stopped though.. the world is dizzy and I can’t stand straight properly when I am peeing. Hahaha. That is not a way to play game, I learnt my lesson. After two weeks of hard work, this is my result

wowscrnshot_042909_130142

Two weeks gone, and I am currently level 71.

“Ha? LEVEL 71 ? What are you doing these days? You are so lousy !!” Woooow…. slow down man. I’ll do some simple maths.

Theoretically, level 70 to level 71 only takes roughly 5 hours. And today, the date is 29th April. 16 days since I last levelled. Let’s make it easy, and make it 14 days.

maths

That is to say, I do not have the time to play for more than 30 minutes per day. I felt ashamed calling myself a WoW player, although becoming a WoW player is nothing to boast about. But I am a proud WoW player. Why would I say that? Put yourself in another perspective. When you start a project, you subconsciously give yourself a goal to achieve. In this case, when I start WoW, my goal is to achieve balance in gaming, friends, study and sports (ha! that explains why no blog updates). There are times when one of these aspects get imbalance and things start falling apart., e.g. game too much until ignore study. So far, I reckon I am doing great since I started WoW. I have to admit, I thought I am falling into the “WoW addiction” category again, luckily I have past experience to remind how much I’ve lost over gaming addiction. I lost a girlfriend, and time. That is all because I have bad management of my priorities.

rank

So many level 80 in my guild. I feel inferior.

With that mentality of mine. I thought of being able to keep up with every aspects of my life (fuhhh luckily I don’t have wife and kids yet hahaha). I had to admit. I failed miserably. Why? I underestimate the allocation of study time; I overestimate the efficiency of my studies. Lecturer told us “You will need to spend 12 hours on each subject, each week. You spend 3 hours with me, and you need to spend the rest of 9 hours to do your own study”. I have four subjects. I was only doing 2 hours on each subject, and 3 hours with lecturer.  You do the maths.

“Yerr… I want to play WoW ohh…”

I say this sentences sooooooooooo many times past two weeks. I really wanted to play that game, unfortunately I have more important priorities to attend. Ah well, I would be glad if I have extra hour to spend on WoW everyday. Life would be wonderful, girls will be prettier. 20 minutes a day is not enough to cure my addiction.

And one habit that all of us posses.. PROCRASTINATE!

procrastinate

Oh shit I wasted 15 minutes drawing this comic strip -_-

Apart from underestimating my studies and overestimating my efficiency in completing tasks in given certain period. I spent more time on cooking. Nohhh!! ahbing can cook you know?! Don’t play play. I have been whipping up at least two meals a day, which is considered good I guess? Who cook more than 2 meals at home, please leave a comment below. I need to consult from you /pfft. Well, by cooking at home, I am in control of my own food choices. I have more variety of healthy foods to choose from. Occasionally still got take away la.. haha.

Oh no, I spent one hour writing until this point. This blog is taking away my time again. Fuck the proof read, I am going freestyle here. I am late for my revision again.

To wrap this up, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my guildies for being petient with my slow progression in WoW. I tried to keep up, seriously. But that would burn me out. Unfortunately, my Master Studies has taken alot of time away from me. We have different priorities I guess ;) But I promise you guys. Let me deal with my matters first, I’ll be staying behind you. Chasing you bit by bit. One step at a time.

Thanks Impanda, Imladybird and Santriano for your private message. Study comes first !! andRemember, we are only casual players. Don’t stress out

Friends came over my house few nights ago. They came to prepare food for next day’s birthday party. For the first time in my life, I cleaned and chopped 12kg of chicken wings in a single night. They manage to buy ALL chicken wings from Coles (Toowong), Woolworth (Toowong) and local meat shop (also in Toowong). The conversation goes like this.

“Howdy. How can I help you?”

“Hello. I want to buy all your chicken wings”

“Ha?” /smile

“All your chicken wings”

“……….. sure?”

“Ya.. all.” (shows big grin)

I will blog about the party when I have the photos in hand. At the meantime, I’ll show you some Chinese calligraphy I wrote.

lcc

Chester’s chinese name.

First of all. I want to clarify I am not a really good calligrapher. I only had experience to a certain extend. I only do calligraphy when I feel like it. My sole purpose for doing calligraphy is to maintain the skills from what I’ve learned over the past years. If I don’t practise, I will regress. That’s it. Plus, writing and sketching is one of thing I like to do over the past time.

Let me show you some sketching I done two nights ago. Friends were around, we were simply fooling around with ink and paper. Drew stupid things and laugh. Ahh.. it’s good to be young. lol.

Oh, sorry to readers who don’t read Chinese. I’ll try my best to explain. I promise.

img_2949

Top row is Chris’s chinese name. That’s one of the reason why I took out my calligraphy set in first place! My friends wondered how to write his name in Chinese. Hahaha. Chris’s Chinese name directly translate as “I am strong”. I think it’s a good name. But someone keep laughing.. I don’t want mention name laaaaa…… hahahaha. The following one means “I am the strongest!!”

The two big words is my Chinese name. “健 is health and 彬 is polite”. My name “彬” often mistakenly known as female name. I often receive mail from bank and eBay. “To: Ms Jian Ping Wong”. And since highschool, friends started to call me “Bing aaahhhh~” Hence my blog name – ahbing.com :)

Last row is the birthday’s boy name. Jerry said 正 oftenly mistakenly written as 丑 when he was young. haha.

img_2948

子曰 “树枝chau ji bai” – I don’t bother to explain this. Young people. Haihh..

Third row is Jerry’s Chinese name. He further explains how he wrote his name while he was young. He took 10 strokes to write a single word, while the correct strokes are only 7 strokes. We laughed him for wasting so many years of his life, spent on that extra few strokes. Hahaha!

Last row are few words I copied from newspaper. Men and Dog. Marley and Me. Whatever.

And we often mistakenly write  牛 as 午 when we’re young. Ahh.. back at those days.

img_2945

I drew that stupid cat. hahaha. Got hair one you know? THREE STRANDS OF HAIR. How cool is that?

img_2947

画蛇添足 – adding legs to snake. Implicitly means ruining the effect by adding something superfluous. Guess which one is that? Clue: look for something that has 4 legs under it.. hahaha.

兴权 is my housemate’s Chinese name. Written in traditional text instead and simplified text.

Oh!! Look at this potrait! Any resemblance?

This sketch is going to take a lot of explanation. I shall start with top left, with the word “照”. During primary school, our teacher taught us how to memorize some words. One of it is like this “一个日本人,站在门口前,拿着一把刀,杀死四个人”. Direct translate as “one Japanese, standing in front of door, holding a knife, and killed 4 people”. When we put in themain element of each sentence, the word naturally comes into a perfect piece. The four dots in the word “照” represents four dead people lying on the floor. This is no means to insult Japanese people, it’s a storyline to assist us memorising the one. That being most effective I should say. I would score full marks if all chinese words has a story to tell. Haha. When we were young. We write this word by repeating the story to ourselves. Then, Heng Ngee asks.. “why only four people? let’s make it more”.

Now we have 16 dead people lying on floor. And Heng Ngee is happy. Then I reply him by writing the word “L A M E”.

HMM, the next figure is… a PAPAYA. We concluded that a seedless papaya looks like that. Enough said.

卍解? (bankai) does that word even exist? I am not sure. I even check up wikipedia.. haha.

あ(a) い(i) う (u) え(e) お(o) – it’s been 7 months since I practise my Japanese. oh my god, I wrote い(i) as り (ri). And I replace え (read as EH).. and I wrote an “A”.. you get what I mean? I did not even bother to continue writing the second row of hiragana. Must find a Japanese girlfriend to practise my speaking and reading skills. I wrote a BAKA as a reminder for myself for not making any effort to improve my japanese.

俺 is read as o-re. Means by “first person pronoun used to designate one’s self.” This is one of the tattoo I wish to have.. not anytime soon, cause my dad will definitely chop me into pieces. It’s going to be on my back.

Wahlau I just spent one hour writing this entry. Going out for dinner now, byebye people! Enjoy your weekend. Have a good one.

Two birthday cakes. Two guys. One surprise.

/awesome. really.

On the day of my birthday, I went to have a simple meal at 7-8 restaurant with a few sausages. Then went home and boiled a few eggs to make 红鸡蛋. I am a superstitious person.. must consume two red eggs during birthday. Heheh.

/door bell rang. door opened..

“Happy birthday to you… happy birthday to you…”

Chester, Juin and Olivia gave me a surprise! They hold a cake, with fire lit on specially molded candles. Awwwww… I am utterly shocked and speechless! I could only stand there and do nothing. Chris was shocked too, he did not expect he receive a birthday cake. He almost cry.

bdayy

When we are about to take photos for candle blowing. I blew his candle instead of mine. I get to blow two cakes! Yay! hahahah. Sorry, 24 years old – still mischievous. I guess I would not change. It’s just simply – Bing. Chris couldn’t do anything. He just say “chiuuuuuu….”
