September 2009

Jimmy recently moved into a new apartment. He said “Bing, my house got swimming pool, spa and gym.”  Wohoooooooooooo I was so excited when I hear that news. “Is the swimming pool big?” I asked.

HELL YEA the swimming pool is almost standard Olympic pool size! On top of that, the spa is heated too. My new boss, Jerry, is enjoying his moment. Jerry keep saying “wah! if got sui char bo right now, my life is complete” (sui char bo = pretty girl)

The spa has a turbo button as well. I was not impress with the spa until Jerry pressed the turbo. He keep shouting “UI UI UI YOU SEE THE BUBBLES!! GOT POWER ALREADY! 这个才是嘛~” I joined him immediately, and skipped my initial plan of swimming 10 laps.

Haha after 15 minutes of spa, I had to stick back with my fitness plan so I swam a few more laps. Then jumped back to spa again. I like the split moment when we jump into the spa, it’s so freaking hot! Our spores widen and I am able to feel every single nerves shouting “syok syok syok.. syok… syok… ohhh lin si”. Haha 15 minutes later we feel like maggie mee, lembik-lembik one. Really syok!

Besides the pool and spa, the gym facilities are only 10 seconds walk away. The basic gym equipments are complete and quite new too. Best part is? GOT AIR CON inside the room! I know where to hangout during summer, hehehehe. Jimmy, can I be your housemate during summer?

After our swim, we were hungry like wolf. Jerry suggested to go to a Malaysian restaurant called Yahoo, to try out their set lunch.

How does it taste? Hmmm.. let me put on my food critic hat.

We ordered Assam Laksa Noodle and Shredded Chicken Noodle. Surprisingly, the dished exceeded my expectation! The taste is catered for Asians, not Caucasians. The noodles are really really really REALLY authentic and delicious.

Look at the noodle! so enticing! I never seen noodle like this before, maybe it’s normal at West Malaysia, but definitely not at Sabah. What noodle do you call this ar?

I feel like I am at Malaysia hahahaha. But you know what? Caucasians outnumbered Asian in that restaurant.. hmm. haha. Seriously, do go there and have a try when you’re free.

Don’t forget to say “ahbing.com referred me to this restaurant, I am eligible for 10% discount”

Eh? I swim so many laps – and eat back equal amount of calories. Diu..

24 hours is not enough. I am not studying anymore and currently unemployed. Supposedly I have all the time I want. But why is 24 hours not enough? I am not satisfied with my productivity past few weeks. So I wake up early today to catch up with my productivity schedule ^^;

Here’s what I’ve been busying these few weeks.

  1. Pushing out 1-2 articles daily at Brisbane Student Guide; while looking for more contributors
  2. Brainstorm potential topics, and setup drafts. Currently 43 articles in draft mode, yet to be written
  3. Explore potential of Social Media through Facebook, Digg, Stumbleupon and Twitter, using Manyholes.com
  4. Draft more posts for ahbing.com – currently have 18 posts unpublished
  5. Reading “Down Under” from Bill Bryson and “Inside Steve’s Brain” from Leander Kahney
  6. Keeping up with sports – swim and gym
  7. Sell off my stuffs before going back Malaysia
  8. Visa shit
  9. SEO and anchor links, geek stuff.

Besides that, I am also learning about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), copy writing, online entrepreneurship, zen habits and a fair bit of CSS codes.

The knowledge I’ve gained from my uni studies has big influence over my career decision. Slowly but steadily, I am paving the career path with my passion, enhancing with knowledge and wisdom acquire from uni studies. The future path is becoming clearer. I am not sure about the outcome of the chosen path but heck I am charging that direction with full force! I am not afraid to fail.

Ok enough of my philosophy shit. Here are some photos to recap what I’ve done on week #38 and #39 at Brisbane.

We celebrated Brisbane River festival at Ah Long’s place. His house has clear view at the fireworks and jets flying over. Great show! Not to mention great friends and gathering, the night was awesome. Enjoyed my last Brisbane Riverfest thoroughly ^^ Here are some Riverfest photos from Khai.

Melanie recommend me to try the Siuyuk™ at 台湾小调, Sunnybank. She said they prepare the best Siuyuk™ in entire Brisbane. I did not believe her until I tried. It’s so true.

We walked pass a pearl tea shop and Jerry was attracted by a drink called “青蛙撞奶”. He wanted to try and walk in the shop immediately. He did not see the ingredients which were written clearly on below the word 青蛙撞奶… “Tapioca balls with FRESH MILK” ^^;

Uncle is slowly cleaning his 乌龟车 after filling petrol. Taken some shots at petrol station for my article entry at Brisbane Student Guide.

Found this gadget at QUT Engineering lab. I wonder if I can ride this to clubs… sure can bring chicks go home.

Kiu dailou showing off his awesome pool stance – The Sibu Style™

He was imitating the people next to our table.. hahahaha.

Jerry and I played with Chuan’s safety helm and work attire hehehehehe ^^;

Some photos after the dust storm. Every car at Brisbane is dirty. Big word “wash me” written all over the cars.

My fan collected with dust only few hours after the dust storm began. Imagine how dusty is my keyboard and table right now… cis! geramnya. No wonder I felt like 2kg heavier, probably I inhaled too much during jogging session.

How’s your week going?

These photos were taken at 11:10am at Toowong, Brisbane. The dust storm started to look visible around 10:55am.

According to News.com.au, “A DUST storm that left Sydney a bright orange and caused misery for airline passengers has settled on Brisbane and is spreading across the state.”

“Passengers wishing to cancel their domestic flights today will be offered a refund or the opportunity to change their booking without penalty,’’ a spoke person said.

“the dust haze probably wouldn’t clear in Brisbane until this evening, after it had blown off the coast. ”

I submitted my photo to editor of News.com.au.

It’s yellow, so visible.. even inside my room. I never seen anything like this, definitely one cool experience! A bit eerie, though.. ok I declare a holiday for myself today. Hahahaha.

Update #1: 12pm

Today in Ahbing’s cooking lesson. I am going to teach you how to cut a chicken. Hah! Sounds syok right? It is! Your mum has probably done this countless times at kitchen, but do you know the correct way to cut a chicken? Do you? DO YOU? I bet the answer is NOOOOOOOOOO. Hahahah! Don’t worry. I will show teach you how! Offer yourself to help out in kitchen tonight, your mum will be delighted. Tell her “ahbing sifu taught me one”

First things first, clean the chicken in running cold water. Then, OPEN THE LEGS. Hehe.

2

Look for thigh joint – the red circle. Use your thumb to squeeze and press it down. The joint is opposite the chicken breast side in case you don’t know -_- The bone is “snapped” out from joint. I love to do that I don’t know why haha. Probably it felt like bending your knuckles until you hear “krak krak” sound. I love to do that when I was young, it’s a bad habit so I stopped doing it.

3

Flip to the chicken breast side. Pull out the chicken leg until you see the thin skin stretch between leg and body. Cut it.

4

You will see the bone that we “snapped” earlier… the “krak krak” sound, remember? Good. Cut it through..

5

And you will have a perfect piece of Maryland chicken! (Chicken thigh + drumstick = Maryland). That’s how Australian call it, not sure about Malaysia. Is it a common name? I don’t know hahahahha. Maryland is probably the biggest reason why chicken are facing extinctions… cause it is so fucking delicious.

6

Now you have a chicken without lower parts! Now we conquer upper parts! The nen gu bao of the chicken!

7

Slip your knife along the softbone between chicken breast, and cut it along the rib-cage. Easy peasy. One tips to make it easier… put your thumb on the middle of the breast, push it apart from the softbone. The breast meat will seperate easily from rib cage when you cut it.

8

Tada! Now you have a perfect piece of chicken breast! Nen gu bao! What else is left? The chicken wings!

9

Just cut it off along the joints, this don’t no need teach one. Too easy. Lastly, you only left some uncut chicken bones. Don’t throw the bone away! Use the bone to cook chicken soup. Throw in a few celery sticks, carrots and onions – and you have a perfect chicken broth.

10

One last tip – Cut the chicken joint, not cut through the bones! Hope you enjoy this lesson.

One chicken sacrifice for this post.. so please share this post with friends and family! Facebook Twitter whatever…

We went to a Taiwanese restaurant after our golf session. We were soooooo damn hungry that we had to end our golf session earlier. I doubt the restaurant is open because it was only 6pm. Sunset has just started.

Luckily the restaurant is open for business. Yay! Let me briefly describe about this restaurant:

  • It’s located in the middle of nowhere, no shops around the area
  • Green Tea Garden, sounds more like a garden than a restaurant
  • Interior feels like a house, more than a restaurant
  • BUT HELL YEA MAN MANY TAIWANESE CHICKS

The one reason is sufficient enough. I had to go. no. matter. how.

Another reason to go: bring your indecisive girlfriend to this restaurant. There is one special drink that called “随便”. You get what I mean? Hehe. But the drink is not cheap oh.

At the main entrance, there is a big rack of magazines and books. Feel free grab a book or two to dispose your time while meals are being prepared. Chuan and Vincent chose to see pretty girls… with little clothing. Hehehe.

On another hand, take our your iPhone and play BubbleWrap.

Here’s our food! These are our appetizers. Fish cake with sweet chili sauce and Fried Tofu with special soy sauce.

Unagi-don and Fried pork-chop rice. Weird to see Unagi being served in Taiwanese restaurant ya? Seems like a new trend cause I see this meal in almost every Taiwanese restaurant nowadays. Probably next time you can buy pizza in roti canai stalls :D

The meal here are served with variety of side dishes such as half boiled egg, two types of garden salad and juicy minced meat sauce on top of rice. Makes the rice become direct cousin of 鲁肉饭. Whoa.. jeng ah..

Oh My God… look at the pork… and the fats… OHHHHHH BABY. I stared at this piece of pork for so long and I struggled. Why? If I consume this piece of pork, I need to run 10km to shed off the excess fats. But, if I don’t consume it… I’ll regret when I die at 80 years old.

(Imaging myself lying on a hospital bed)
….why I did not eat the piece of pork 60 years ago”
. Then si liao. End of story.

What do you think? Did I consume this piece or pork? :D

While we were having our meal.. two large objects appear at the main entrance. Gasp! My heart skipped two beats. With such humongous size, it is impossible to escape my radar. I put all my focus on the object, and holy light shines upon me… I see the hawt perfect sweet lookin’ woman, with a pair of perfect boobs. Hallelujah! I can’t breath.

“Whoa… JIN DUA LIAP!!” I told myself. I thought I am going to die. Seriously.

She sits beside our table. Unfortunately, I have no balls to confront with her. All I did was taken a few candid shots. Ah Bing!! Where are your balls!!!?? Haih. Bo bian la.. I get nervous when I see such perfect pair of boobs.

I do have an urge to walk up and say “hi, you look so familiar.. can I take a photo with you?”

But I didn’t. Shit. Now I regret again.

She looks a lot better in real life. Why didn’t my Lumix LX3 camera arrive earlier? shit shit shitshisthistshithishsit.

If you are interested in going this place, here’s the map. I don’t know the exact address but I can point out the location with Google Map. Search for “Fruit Grove Train Station”

station

I’m going again next week. Who want to join ha?
