I visited barstories at Singapore and I have many stories to tell.
One thing that caught my attention is…
They don’t have a menu.
According to my kaki(s) information, this hidden cafe inside a hidden valley is an award winning cocktail bar.
They serve custom cocktails according to customer’s imagination.
Where do I start my story?
I think I shall start from our “extra-curriculum” for working adults.
My entire group of friends are beer kaki… so the first place we go is a bar with Buy-1-Free-1 beers.
I ordered 3 pints. And got another 3 more for free >:)
We immediately cheered each other when the beers arrived, especially Shannon and me.
We consider ourselves fast drinkers because we usually finish first pint within 3 minutes, sometimes even faster.
“Real men don’t drink beer in small sips, you know?”, we said.
He finishes his first pint within 3 minutes too.
When our second pint arrives, Jason’s face has already turned red.
“Whoa, your blood circulatory system is damn efficient wei” we laughed.
He nodded head and agreed.
“Cheers to second pint! CHEERS!”
Jason cheered together too. You’re seeing where this is heading, right?
Third pint arrives. Jason started speaking English.
It wasn’t even 15 minutes since we started first pint.
“Hahah Jason you damn efficient ah!” we laughed again.
* * * 30 minutes later * * *
Everyone was enjoying their time until they noticed Jason went missing.
“Did he go to the river?”
“Yes I think I saw him headed to that direction”
Hmm… that looks comfortable.
“Let’s do second round” Lisa claimed.
And I don’t remember who suggested we go Barstories.
Waiter came to our table and introduced himself.
Lisa was mezmerised but that’s entirely different story for another day.
“So, what would you guys like to drink?”
“I want the taste of Aladdin” I said.
(In my head: NAHHHH!! I’ll see how you make this cocktail for me, biatch!)
“OK, I’ll see what I can do.” he said.
I don’t remember what others ordered but I think it’s among these lines..
- Pepperoni Pizza Cocktail
- Nutella Cocktail
- Peter Pan Cocktail
- Beauty and The Beast Cocktail
- Ginger Mojito
- Bourbon of xxx
This is my looks of “Aladdin”.
The cocktail inspired the mixologist with taste of Arabian, which consists of flower petals, herbs and spices from Middle Eastern.
And somehow I can relate that to Aladdin…
I don’t remember what Lisa ordered – and they gave her Nutella rum or something.
I think she says “I want a taste of you” when she ordered from the handsome waiter.
Ginger rum from Shannon? I don’t remember.
Behind me are crew from Barstories.
The Mixologist is the good looking lady with ribbon.
(she looked so sweet, melts).
…and the WAITER!! … is exactly Lisa’s type.
Keep talking and looking about the waiter leh… geli dao si.
(Hello, Lisa! are you reading my blog?)
Eh? Who is holding my glass oh? That’s not my hand…
