This is the second part of my Kuching journey. Part One here.
I woke up morning, feeling breathless.
The room I stayed had no window – not even a hole for ventilation. I probably filtered Chris’s fart whole night too.
We got up and complaint who actually farted. Then we head out for brunch.

Chong Chon is famous for their laksa. When we reached there at noon, it’s already sold out. The stall closed already.

I approached another stall’s, the owner looks like the Billionaire from 2012, Yuri.
“Lao ban.. what else do you sell here?”
“Beef noodle and cha sao noodle” in slow and deep voice.
“How good is your cha sao noodle?”
He looked at me, disbelieved.
He points behind him, a huge frame on the wall.
Within that frame, he got himself a full two page newspaper coverage that has huge photos of him and his cha sao noodles.
“Need me to say anymore?” he says.
WHOA, DAMN YENG.
“LAO BAN!! GIMME ONE OF YOUR BEST CHA SAO NOODLE!”
He smiled. Like a billionaire.

Cha sao noodle – It’s really good. Yuri (let’s call LAO BAN like that lah) uses the burnt sides of cha sao to complement the springy noodle. Every bite of cha sao is succulent and juicy. Got the charred taste some more.
He deserves to be in paper -___-

Chris ordered beef noodle. He said the meat is tender and soup is amazing. I taste a small spoon, it’s really thick
We took taxi to The Spring, the largest shopping mall at Kuching. Watched a movie, Wohoo! [五虎]. Damn gay.
No, I am not saying the movie is gay. I mean watching with another male. I feel gay. Geli oh!!
We took taxi back to our hotel, and continue our food journey again.
Location #1
Kuching Laksa
Location #2

Sea coconut juice and stir-fry carrot cake

Kompia and ABC

Kompia [光饼] is a piece of deep fried dough with mince meat in the middle. Lovely. Looks like Oreo biscuit, but Sarawakian style.
Location #3

This is the thickest pork pau I’ve seen/had in my life. Only RM1.50.
If KK got people sell pao with that amount of fillings, I estimate the price around RM5.00.
“Aiyoo…. you know la… pork very expensive these days… cost raise, price also raise la boss. Susah cari makan oohh..”
Location #4
The food in our stomach haven’t turn into shit yet, we start searching for food again.
Our final destination in Kuching is Jalan Song… huge food court.

Fried noodle

Roast pork ball

Deep fried butter chicken

Here are my thoughts after 3 days 2 nights at Kuching
- Either Kuching people don’t produce leng lui, or all of them hide at home. I don’t see any pretty girls
- Every restaurant and food court are full, Kuching people don’t like to cook at home.
- No illegal immigrants. You come Sabah, you feel like you’re in Philippines.
- Sarawakian’s staple food is not rice or bread. It’s KOLO MEE.
- Food damn cheap. I like. If I stay here, I could save money buy Ferrari.

That popiah looks unique.
“No illegal immigrants. You come Sabah, you feel like you’re in Philippines.”
So true!
LOL. If the illegal immigrants here have same quality as educated Philipinos, it’ll be totally different. I have a Philipino assistant who works on my other website. They are awesome.
