Sports

Sunday morning 6:15am, while everyone is still sleeping — I am already awake for challenges ahead.

I mean, real challenges.

I joined KK Treasure Hunt. An annual event held by Sabah Tourism Board, joined by other 150 teams around Malaysia.

.. but 99% are locals lah. Hahahaha.

My team mate: Elena, me, Delonia and Adrian.

The event prizes are huge — RM8,000 for Champion, RM5,000 for second prize and RM3,000 for 3rd prize if not mistaken.

This is our first time joining this event.

“Aiya, no chance to win this game de lah. I join for fun and experience only k?” I told Delonia before accepting her invitation to join treasure hunt.

(Adrian sticking sticker on my car)

I grew up at KK and I never knew this event existed. You can tell how huge is this event by judging on prize money and sponsorships.

“Must be marketing is too lousy bah”, referring to Sabah Tourism Board.

They need Ah Bing, the ultimate internet god to do promotion for them. — my conclusion. hehehe :)

Ohhhhh I felt so sakit hati to see these stickers on my car. After having a good car wash not long ago.

I worried if the stickers will leave any marks. Luckily they gave RM100 coupon for car wash and polish.

“Okay lah stick all you want!! I don’t have to wash the car myself, muahahhaha”

(McDonald as breakfast)

What’s KK Treasure Hunt anyway?

The game is similar to Amazing Race, we need to accomplish tasks and mission in order to proceed to next challenge — Whoever scored the most in shortest time will win the game.

Challenges include:

  • Drive from Point A -> B -> C -> D -> E -> F -> G in shortest time (you decide the route)
  • Answer quiz. Clues are around KK. For e.g. Where is Tok Guru in Api-api center?
  • Game challenges.
  • Complete different tasks in shortest time. e.g. get a plant in XX, go tanam at YY, pick up 2kg rubbish at ZZ, then send back to AA.

“Niama… I just clean my car ahhh!!! why heavy rain!?” I shouted.

“Ui drive faster eh, we’re in a competition” Delonia commanded.

“Chiu!! You thought I’m driving sport car ahh? 70km/h is the fastest my car can go. Drive any faster my steering start to shake like Shakira”

=___= old car.

This is one of the mission: Plant some new plants at garden, pick up 2kg of rubbish at Tanjung Lipat.

The truck is filled with lots of rubbish, bukan main main. We can easily gather 2-3 more trucks of rubbish if we wanted.

WHY IS OUR BEACH SO DIRTY AHHHH? fuck you illegal immigrants.

Elena, Delonia and Adrian need to shoot down metal cans with paper and rubber band. The team will get 1 point for each can shoot down.

Total points: 1 point.

In this game, we need to throw slippers to the card decks and get as many card out of the circle. 1 point per card.

I took this challenge.

Total points: 22 points.

Pfft. Too easy la this game. *show off mode ON*

Our team moral immediately sky rocketed after realising we’re the top scorers in the game.

“We have chance to win RM8,000 ohhhhh!!!!”

… but when it comes to solving quizzes..

“Do you know answer for Question 1?”

“……..”

“Question 2, anyone?”

“………”

“Question 3 leh?”

“………”

“Okay let’s just fill in the empty space, BU DIAO LIAO!!!! nyiahahahahhahha!!!”

I drove 7 hours straight.

Before the race begin, I told them I did not sleep previous night. Pretty much stayed awake whole night working on my project.

Nolah I’m not so hardworking :D

Actually I was suffering insomnia past few days. And I only get to sleep after 7am.

This treasure hunt started at 6am so I didn’t plan to sleep. at. all.. and had to stay awake through out the day.

I am so glad I finished the race without any hiccups.

I immediately fall asleep though.. battery has reached critical low level.

Best sleep ever.

PS: we didn’t win any prize, not even top 30.

Ronald text me on weekday, “Bing! want to join paintball ma? there’s a new paintball field called Area 21 Paintball at Donggongon. The rest of the gangs are joining too, including YSLo.”

“Nice! But under one condition—I want to shoot YSLo.”

“Okay bahhh, that can be arranged. But why you want to shoot him?”

“He is huge, easier to shoot, HEHEHEHHE”

(Fast forward to weekend)

I was informed to only bring extra shirt and towel, and of course lots of water to prevent dehydration. When I arrived, I just made it to briefing.

Briefing from Marshall (referee), Andrew. He is the person in charge of this paintball business. Simply say, CEO.

During the briefing, we asked him lots of funny question. e.g.

“Can we tackle opponents if we get really close? like, drop the gun and flying kick him?”

“Why there’s no gears to cover our brother?” Ans: “You don’t charge with your little brother that’s why”

“Can we shoot you purposely?” Ans “Yes. but you’re outta the game”

The gun, also known as Marker.

I am going to get one of these some day :D This sport is freaking addictive.

The Green Team—from the standing pose itself, you already know whose the most experience player.

The Blue Team—I was told that I was moving target because I wear white. Oh shit.

What’s next?

GAME ON

Random photos. Thanks Stephanie for taking all these awesome photos.

Then we take a short break.

We had 4 matches.

Sun bian take damn cool photos.

Stephanie “Ready.. 1… 2… 3….”

“No need count, I am always ready” I told her.

Nohhh, full of confident man!! hahaha.

You know why? because I use Old Spice products.

We had total 4 rounds to face off each other. Our result was 2:2. The result is not fair because Green team has malfunction markers on first match.

Jojo hiding behind the snake, waiting for opportunity to strike.

We allowed ghosting, which means informing the location of opponents after you’re down (dead).

To put in another analogy, if you played Counter Strike before, it’s like viewing other player’s screen, and you’re allowed to inform the location of opponents to your teammates.

Boon Yuh (white) face off with Ronald (black).

This match Ronald successfully freeze Boon Yuh, this means Ronald stand beside Boon Yuh and point marker at him, shouting “freeze”.

It hurts like hell if you pull the trigger that CLOSE.

The most experience player among us, Wee Peng.

If we are living in a war era now, he could be among the highest ranking official.

Unfortunately for him, we are living in a peaceful world right now :P

YSLo! my best buddy.

He is the main reason I wanted to join this paintball match. He almost bailed this game because he knew I was looking forward “painting” him.

I had the perfect chance to shoot him but the bullet bounces off. WTF.

We came to conclusion that we are not allowed to shoot YSLo because the bullets will reflect back on us.

When you put your hand on your head, means you’ve been shot and out of the match. That’s part of the rule.

…. but make sure your hand is visible or else you kena shoot few more times. Hahaha.

Our battle scars. Awesome ones :)

Had a great match at paintball field, can’t wait to learn more about this game and approach it with better tactics and strategies.

Who wanna join me next game? :D

If you are interested in this game, call Andrew. He’s a cool guy, mix with us easily – especially our bullshits. Hahahaha.

Few days after I bought my new camera, LUMIX LX3, Jerry was deeply in love with the camera. He wanted to learn so much about photography, and he almost purchased a camera in one point.

I told him to learn more from Khai, because Khai has the necessary equipments and gears to let Jerry experience more before deciding to hop into this new hobby.

Jerry meets Khai -> Khai lends camera -> Jerry wants experiment -> We went to driving range

Khai (dark shirt) is new to golf. We literally deflowered his golf virginity. Hahaha. However, Khai shows great potential in golf swings – he swing further than any newbie despite his silly stance. First swing can reach 75ft! WTF.

Vincent (white jacket) played a few times with us before. He is getting grasp of the swing, which is good ;) Thanks to Jerry’s awesome tutorial – where Jerry learn everything from Youtube. Hahaha.

Jerry with his pre-swing pose. Looked so pro right! I wonder how many girls fall for him after seeing this photo. This shot is awesome ya? You know why? it’s obvious that this photo was taken by me :P

Bukan saya mau bilang nama la… this guy is the pro-est among them >:)

But, I got THE pose, but I don’t swing correctly.

One of my friends once said:

“It doesn’t matter whether you hit the ball or not, having the perfect swing matters the most.” ( 不打中没关系,最重要有姿势!)

If you did not hit the ball. Do this -> turn back.. and smile like Korean star

…and say “Haha, that was a good practice swing!”

Jimmy recently moved into a new apartment. He said “Bing, my house got swimming pool, spa and gym.”  Wohoooooooooooo I was so excited when I hear that news. “Is the swimming pool big?” I asked.

HELL YEA the swimming pool is almost standard Olympic pool size! On top of that, the spa is heated too. My new boss, Jerry, is enjoying his moment. Jerry keep saying “wah! if got sui char bo right now, my life is complete” (sui char bo = pretty girl)

The spa has a turbo button as well. I was not impress with the spa until Jerry pressed the turbo. He keep shouting “UI UI UI YOU SEE THE BUBBLES!! GOT POWER ALREADY! 这个才是嘛~” I joined him immediately, and skipped my initial plan of swimming 10 laps.

Haha after 15 minutes of spa, I had to stick back with my fitness plan so I swam a few more laps. Then jumped back to spa again. I like the split moment when we jump into the spa, it’s so freaking hot! Our spores widen and I am able to feel every single nerves shouting “syok syok syok.. syok… syok… ohhh lin si”. Haha 15 minutes later we feel like maggie mee, lembik-lembik one. Really syok!

Besides the pool and spa, the gym facilities are only 10 seconds walk away. The basic gym equipments are complete and quite new too. Best part is? GOT AIR CON inside the room! I know where to hangout during summer, hehehehe. Jimmy, can I be your housemate during summer?

After our swim, we were hungry like wolf. Jerry suggested to go to a Malaysian restaurant called Yahoo, to try out their set lunch.

How does it taste? Hmmm.. let me put on my food critic hat.

We ordered Assam Laksa Noodle and Shredded Chicken Noodle. Surprisingly, the dished exceeded my expectation! The taste is catered for Asians, not Caucasians. The noodles are really really really REALLY authentic and delicious.

Look at the noodle! so enticing! I never seen noodle like this before, maybe it’s normal at West Malaysia, but definitely not at Sabah. What noodle do you call this ar?

I feel like I am at Malaysia hahahaha. But you know what? Caucasians outnumbered Asian in that restaurant.. hmm. haha. Seriously, do go there and have a try when you’re free.

Don’t forget to say “ahbing.com referred me to this restaurant, I am eligible for 10% discount”

Eh? I swim so many laps – and eat back equal amount of calories. Diu..

Lately, besides badminton, I pick up another new hobby – cycling :D

Last Saturday was damn hot, Chris and I do not want to stay in house and become roast chicken. So we went out for a quick ride. Well, at least there’s WIND outside, we thought.

The temperature that day was 30 degree. Our destination was to South Bank and back. Go man-made beach to see bikini chicks and cool our eyes. We are cruising along the wind, whoa damn nice.

Took some photos along the way.. we enjoyed the scenery and the hot and humid weather. But something is missing..

“Ui lin si, we need cold drinks man. Let’s ride to UQ get some cold drinks!! We cycle through Green bridge, it’s a detour but I think we can make it.”
