Travel

Last week, I bought the most expensive return ticket ever. The ticket was sold during Raya Peak Season.

Why so bak chi!? There is a business opportunity at Sunway Pyramid, me and my partner received the news on Friday, we flew the next day. That burns a freaking big hole in my bank account, hope it won’t happen often in future ^^;

The business is related with this..

That’s a big hint *cough*

If it’s a done deal, I will be busy next 3 months. Still in progress of negotiating.. can’t reveal more. And we are very excited ^^;

I am staying at hotel instead at relative’s place.. and this is my first time ever in 26 years to stay in hotel in West Malaysia ^^;

This is business trip so staying within walking distance is best choice.

I usually couchsurf relative and friend’s place whenever I came over. In this trip, I can’t even meet my own sister and grandparents due to time restraints :(

Good news is, my hotel room is next to a night club..

WOOOO!! Party time!!

… Ni gao tok la, party… I would love to do that if I have extra few more “0″ digits in my bank account.

Seriously for now, I AM VERY PUKKAIIIII.

If you don’t expect the pay the bills, don’t ask me out.

* * *

It is a different story for my partner.

He saw the newest Blackberry 9900.. (arrived market within days only)

“Uiyoh lin si! this Blackberry is better! I want one!

(phone on left is mine, his old phone in middle while holding the new phone on right side)

It did not take much “brainwash” from me..

(p/s: I LOVE to convince my friends to buy new gadgets, then make them feel bad RIGHT AFTER they bought it. Bad habit, but it gives a sense of achievement :P )

That night and convince him that the phone is really REALLY awesome, he absolutely must own it.

Convincing him is like, wet wet water. Of course la, he already have the intention to buy it, I’m only giving him a push.

He bought the newest blackberry 9900 within 12 hours. Mission completed. He traded his old phone.

A happy partner = bigger chance in winning the negotiation. Right?

I have to keep reminding myself “Bing ahhh Bing ahhh, this is business trip, don’t spend unnecessary expenses”.

So far so good! I have to praise myself for controlling my expenses.

I only spend money on beer and sugar drinks every day. Of course, this is part of business. These are compulsory expenses :)

Also, my partner told me the difference between 1)用钱 2)花钱 3)浪费钱. Do you know the difference?

Besides air ticket and hotel fees, the rest of my expenses goes into…

FOOD.

Sit back and hold on tight…

Niama… my saliva.. I hate to read my own blog sometime (I am writing this post at 3am).

For students who studied around Sunway area.. how many food can you recognise?

My partner, “Haiii I grew up eating these food..” lol.

* * *

Had dinner with friends at Asia Cafe — this is like the heaven gate of food in Sunway area. Students flock to this place like the foods are FREE! Niama.. the food selections are amazing! Chinese Italy Japan Malaysia Korea Western cuisine.. makailin also you can find under one roof.

There’s even one stall that serves instant noodle. Pukk!!

But right, seriously la.. I freaking love this place. Why? Many siu-mui mui(s). All fresh grads… wa… syok o :D

These reminded me of how awesome was my student life! Hang out with friends, enjoy food, play games til morning, day trips, group sex, drink alcohol til pass out..

I must come KL to experience student life for at least 1 week semester next time!

Who’s with me?!

We are going white water rafting today.

The instructor asks, “who tried water rafting before?”

I raised my hand.

“What level was it?”

“5″ I answered.

“This is only level 3 – so it’s like swimming in kiddie’s pool.”

“Hah! sap sap sui la..”

Chris, Jerry and Chester are virgins when it comes to white water rafting, but definitely not woman.

For Chris, not virgin to man and woman.

We were given instructions on how to survive in case of emergencies, specific instructions during water rafting. And the most important one, we were told to behave. Hahhahaha.

When whole bunch of lanjiaos go travel, its like whole team of unleashed monkeys.

Horny monkeys.

No shoes or slippers allowed. Free sandals!

You are not allowed to go rafting kaki ayam (barefooted) – the stones under the river are sharp.

Yikes.

Luckily my body consist of mostly fats, I won’t sink into the river no matter how hard you try.

Buoyancy rules! *smile confidently*

The boys bought new crocs for this water-rafting. Luckily I am cheapskate guy.. insisted the water rafting team will provide us sandals. I was right :)

I thought our group was noisy and naughty — until we met the monkeys from German.

Hell, they came in larger group, louder noise and bigger pants. Some of them were still drunk.

It’s a real fun to look at these big boys hitting and running around with each other. Like 6 years old boys hitting each other.

The instructors hopelessly shake head, because monkeys do not take instructions.

German bunch are really fun group if you’re in their group.. If you are not, it’s a headache.

Rafting starts and here we gooooooooooooooo.

This German guy lost a bet and he had to wear woman’s lingerie whole day.

He enjoyed every moment, not afraid to show off too!

How I know this?

He run around with the sexy lingerie and told every one about his lost bet :D

(30 minutes later)….

We had to take shower because all of us was in the river, in fear of any cacing crawled into our pants.

We had to jump of the raft, and swim along the river.. and get back on the raft again. Part of the experience of water rafting.

What’s the point if we completed the whole journey safe and dry, right? ;)

We had a rest at a bar, with our Japanese instructor.

A random photo I took on the street. The tree is full of lively parrots, what an amazing sight.

If this happened in KK, I bet all the immigrants captured all of them and sell it in market, or BBQ it…

… or teach the bird to speak Tagalog.

We visited the night market too.

Main purpose: check out pretty girls lah…

Couldn’t buy any shit here because it’s all for travellers… sangat mahal o lin si.

And, dinner time!

Sarawak Samseng spend us this huge sushi meal — a surprise meal after we had our main meal.

“Pukimak! We are full already, why order this sushi plate oh?! biggest in the menu some more! Ngai diao!” *more curse in one sentence*

“This is probably our last meal together.. since we are parting soon. Don’t know when can we meet again.”

“THIS MEAL IS FOR OUR FRIENDSHIP!” Chris added.. why crying.

So damn cool la you, Chris.

(Nola he didn’t cry.. but it was a moment to remember)

Some sushi left on the plate — we couldn’t finish it ^^;

This post actually backdates to December 2009. I am blogging about events that happened 16 months ago.

Crap.

Hey who want to go travel together?

This is Day 4 of Taiwan trip. I am showing only highlights of the trip.. and the photos are arranged sequentially. Took 4,000 photos in 7 days, and there’s so much to write about so I only talk about what happened in the photo.

FIRST STATION: 北投

Natural hotspring at 北投. The scenery is amazing… with a hint smell of sulfur, smells like fart but still bearable.

I would say this is a perfect photo spot. Not many chances we can see such scenery.

We keep 吟诗作对 because this place looks like where all the poet originates… ^^;

We filled our tummy at Taiwan Main Train Station before departing. Same place, same time, also same bowl of noodle. The food is too amazing, and we had to go another time.

We took one hour’s train ride to 北投. Nothing to do during the journey — and we started talk shit and do silly things again. Photos not available at blog.. too many pictures already :P

Lesson: Unlike Australia train, you are not allowed to sit on floor (Kena warning)

We visited the hotspring museum — the museum has loads of information including how the hotspring originates and how it looks like in the older days.

The notice board I am holding states that “Must take off shoes— don’t steal, play or consume food or drinks here”

… the board didn’t say cannot fight ;)

“黎”小龍踢館!

我們不是東亞病夫!

***

This was an abandoned building before it was rebuilt into museum. Many parts of the building was refurbished to restore the original design and look. It’s one excellent place to take karaoke videos like this…

OHHHH… 太有感覺了!! jiwang the sangat.

Maybe some day I should make a karaoke video for fun.

HEHEHHEHEH :D

SECOND STATION: 淡水

We took another hour’s train ride back to Taipei, stopped at 淡水 to visit 老人街 and 情人橋.

Expect to see lots of old people around the street but we were damn wrong. lol. The street name can be misleading sometimes.

I wonder what will elderly look like if they put on these shirts. So tempted to buy all the shirts but keep reminding myself that I am not 20 years old anymore.

Must refrain myself from wearing these colorful shirts or else I’ll be still the same after 30 years — not professional!

Probably the largest glass of drink I ever saw at Taiwan. 500ml for few bucks only.

…if only that’s cold beer.

Found some awesome snacks along 老人街, mostly deep fried food.

I like deep fried squid with wasabi seasoning. Awesomeness x 100.

情人橋 with 鳥人 (nickname I gave Suk Ching).

Stand at 情人橋, it makes much more sense to take photo with a lady. Take photo with another male… felt a bit weird /shy

I was told that the bridge name, 情人橋, was given by ex-President 陳水扁. He gave this name because the opening ceremony falls exactly on Valentine’s Day, hence the bridge name.

I was like… “Duhhhhhhhhhh… stupid name.”

LAST STATION: 士林夜市

It’s about 8pm when we arrived 士林夜市—which means it’s DINNER TIME!!

Oh my god, look at the crowds! and the streeeeeeet iss sooooooo freakinngggggg lloooonnnggggggg.

…like a certain part of my body. I let you guess which part lah..

Had fishball from a famous stall — tastes really good. No wonder he appears in so many food shows. The fish ball is a bit expensive though.

Did I tell you that our eyes were busy whole night? There are sooooooooo many 正妹. Whoa, see them until my eye sticky sticky ooh lin si.

I simply take any photo at any direction also can spot pretty girl. That is so ridiculous (fake eye lashes on almost every lady, haha)

I want to migrate to 太北, who want to follow? Let’s have adventure together.

Wah damn I look so handsome.

I had to upload this photo so that you realise how handsome I can be when photo is taken at a perfect angle. HAHHAHAHA :D

Credit goes to Raymond for taking/editing.

Best dessert of the trip!

Real mango with ice flakes… ABC and Cendol kalah far far. Our best local dessert is in a different league.. just like our Malaysia soccer team.

We smiled while we consume, “哇 好吃 好吃”

… and also the most expensive dessert we had in Taipei, cost NT$90 each. Worth every cent :D

We didn’t eat any fruits for days so we bought some — and was charged NT$350 (RM35).. I would say that is freaking expensive for 300grams of pear and papaya pickles.

I went back hotel and tell the other friends, and realised they bought NT$600 (RM60) for exactly the same thing, only different fruit.

I thought I was conned, but my friend is even worse than me. Hahahhahahaha.

RM60 worth of fruits… you better have a smooth sail in toilet next morning.

This is a blog post that I should have written one year ago, where I travelled around Australia. Writing this post brings back lots of fun memories.

This is the 7th day of Australia tour, and we were exploring Cairns.

We are heading to Undara, a volcano spot located at Australia inland — close to the desert.

We started driving at 2am, yes freaking midnight.

We relied on GPS device heavily because there’s no civilization around that area as we were told. To make things more exciting, the GPS is a bit malfunction. This is adventure, so we don’t careeeee.

We had to use to cello-tape to manually stick the GPS device on dashboard, another long story….

The journey started at a highway where there’s no street lamp at all. We can’t see our fingers when we switch off the headlamp, seriously… it’s so awesome!!

I was the designated driver for the day, and I was told the drive will take 5-6 hours.

While I was driving, I feel bored. Feeling a bit mischievous — I turn off the light, and say:

“You see!! no lights! wooohoooo!!”

“OIII OIIII !!!!! TURN ON THE LIGHT EHH !!!!!”, Chris shouted in panic. “Don’t play these kind of things” he said.

Suk arrrrrrr?

“我駕車,你定ehhh”, coming from a over-confident driver… that’s me :D

There’s no public toilet, and we had to release our extra liquid into the wild.

Why stand in front of the headlamp?

It’s too dark — we need the light to show where we are aiming at… we were avoiding potential snake attack. Worst case scenario is having 2 extra holes on our gugujiao.

Oh, I probably killed 10+ frogs along the journey… and avoided a dead boar and buffolo. Whole night I was singing Dead bodies everywhere by KoRn (Youtube).

The sun finally rises, and we realise how pretty our surrounding is.

Look at photo, you cannot see the end of the road… and it’s sooooooooooooo straight.

We would be driving 200km/h if there’s not hidden speed camera, but we didn’t take our chances. We already received a illegal parking ticket at Sydney.

There’s a movie about lorry driver murdering traveler on these Australian highway, and it is based on true story.

Goooood morning!!

Chester did his morning exercise on top of the car.

We finally arrived our destination after 5 hours of driving - Undara Lava Tubes.

“Err… where is that volcano oh?”

“Yalohhhh, not even a small hill along our journey, where is the lava?”

…. it turns out we’re visiting at lava which was formed at pre-history years. Hence, the name “Undara Lava Tubes“.

DIU NYA @#$%@#$@#$!!!!!!! (insert more curse… although unnecessary)

We should have understand the term before deciding to come -_-

According to the tour guide, this is the largest flow of lava from a single volcano in the world. The lava can probably cover whole Malaysia if my calculation is right.

BUT, I WANT TO LOOK AT REAL LAVA!!

“Sorry but there’s no such thing here”…

niama. waste my time only.

The boys get too bored, and we started slapping on each other’s gugujiao as entertainment.

… and the war started.

Every time we take photo, we have to cover our sensitive part because that is when our gugujiao is most vulnerable (two guys stand beside one another, and the hand is within reach…)

PS: This “entertainment” last until end of the trip.

On another note, I found one funny looking tree!

What do you think the tree looks like? Reply in the comments below…

“Ah Bing found a tree that looks like  _______, and I like it!”

I learnt lesson the hard way.. I forgot to protect my gugujiao while taking photo with this Sarawak Samseng..

You see the smile on the photo? I faked it, I was holding back my pain. Ngai sat, punya sakit…

This is day 3 of my Taiwan one week trip. Check out: Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3(a). This is Day 3(b). The post is too long, so I separated into 2 posts.

The earlier part of Day 3 is a bit mundane, all we done is see see look look, all at statues and landmark, included Taipei 101.

We especially miss Taipei 101, why? our favourite night club – The Lava Club, is situated there :)

Raymond planned today’s itinerary, he said there’s a place we MUST visit. We just follow laaa.. because non of us came prepared. hehehe.

We had to go to small alleys to reach this place.

“Whoaa… why got such place in the middle of alley. So cool”

The restaurant’s name is KANPAI. Kanpai as in 乾杯 in Chinese and Japanese kanji.

KANPAI is a BBQ restaurant, they are famous around Taipei area.

BUT this is not a normal BBQ restaurant — this restaurant is opened by Japanese beer company, ASAHI. (read more about KANPAI restaurant)

We were here for one reason though — kiss for 10 seconds and you get a plate of BBQ meat for free!

Condition is: You had to kiss lips-to-lips

You kiss, and get free food! very simple right? :D

Before entering this restaurant, we already have a solid idea of who kissing who. Hehehehe. We had so much fun discussing this topic. The problem is, all of us is lanjiao.

And guys (a.k.a. lanjiao) are not supposed to kiss each other. That is very wrong.

LUCKILY — the girls decided to join us. YAYYYYYY we don’t have to kiss guys anymore! We have chance to kiss with girls!!

(These were our fantasies, of course).

Boy kiss girls, that makes more sense, and the probability of it happening is much higher. BUT THAT IS NOT FUN.

So, back to boy+boy; girl+girl :)

Girl kiss girl lohhh weiiiii… turns us on!!

Right after they kissed, they use tissue to wiped their lips. Cis, so turn off lah. We thought they will progress to french kiss after kissing for 10 seconds.

Couldn’t blame them, they are cousins after all :P

Haih. This is hopeless.

We played rock-scissor-paper, and losers had to kiss. No girls are willing to kiss us, so pathetic!

Ah Zip (our tour guide) is the blue collar, and Ah Hock is in red. Look at Ah Hock, he kissed so passionately.

That is why the whole table goes “EWWWWWWWW…”

KANPAI restaurant serves Japanese style BBQ. I only had korean style BBQ — but never a Japanese style. This is a fun experience for all of us.

Kanpai serves fresh food too. The waiter helped us to pick all the best food because we had no idea what’s good what’s not. We told him we’re tourist and we allow him to make decision.

What’s the best thing I like about the restaurant?

THE AWESOME BEER.

Why is it so awesome?

First of all, it’s a draft beer. And the beer are well taken care of — they know the exact way to serve a beer (of course they do! Japanese beer company woh!)

  • Serves in a 350ml mug to ensure the temperature is still cold while you finish. Beers tend of get warm in larger glass so this is perfect size
  • The beer foam is thick, and it’s purposely done that way so the beer remains “carbonated”
  • The foam is thick as cream, not bubbly
  • It’s ASAHI

If you finished the first glass in one-go, they will refill you glass — for free.

Then, around 8:30pm, there’s another competition, you finish the beer you’re holding, and you’re entitled for another free refill.

That night I had 8-10 glasses of beer, couldn’t remember. I came out with 10% food and 90% beer filled tummy.

KANPAI even had a machine specially made for pouring beers… who doesn’t love that?

I am sold, totally.

I love beer, especially cold draft beers. Couldn’t get enough of these quality shit :)

冷えたビール!!!

Photographer couldn’t take photo properly. Everyone is drunk (except the girls, they scare fat wahh).

And guess what? our bills was RM1,000.

Despite the steep price, we all think the value is worth it because we had sooooooo much fun, and great food, great experience, great friends.. and great BEER (last one is my own opinion)

If they opened a branch here in KK, I’ll be a loyal customer, maybe also owner.

After the food, we went to night market to hunt more food. That place is called …

SHIT I FORGOT THE NAME OF THE PLACE.

Nevermind lahh.. it doesn’t matter. All we know is the night market is right beside a Taiwan university, we had so much fun looking at university girls.

We do many many stupid things again.. some are too explicit to share on this blog. When you are intoxicated, and “unlimited flow” of pretty young girls around you.. you tend to do funny (and stupid) things.

“Harlow 小姐 妳很美麗 喔喔喔喔喔喔喔喔~~~” some shit like that. This is only level 1 of our stupid things… highest level being is 5.

Some of us took some naughty photo while we were going back hotel. *ahemmm*

:p
