Mount Tamborine Road Trip (2/2)

October 17th, 2008 Posted in Road Trip

This is the second entry of Mount Tamborine Road Trip (1/2)

After some photos from top of the hill, we drove another 90 minutes to the nearest National Park. The road to National Park is damn annoying cause there are no straight roads at all, and it’s uphill. Chris almost cried cause the road is never ending. We almost gave half after 60 minutes drive because we have no idea how far else should we drive.

But when we reach destination, we know it’s worth the effort.

You see, our main purpose there is for jungle trekking. The National Park was designed to be very family orientated, they have heaps of facilities. I thought it was like a rumah atap with one toilet like those back in my hometown. Haha.

There is one parrot playground. Hundreds of hungry parrots! The birds are not afraid of people. We were provided seeds for free. I never had such experience… very cool oh. A bird stand on your hand and consumer their meal. If I can bring a parrot to clubbing, then the parrot stand on my hand whole night, wah so yeng. All girls look at me.

Then…

There’s one biggest attraction in the National Park. It’s called Tree Top Walk. The trees are all tall tall belaka. Bridges were build between tress and we areĀ  able to move freely around. However there’s only limit of 6 people per span. I wonder.. if 6 ahbing stand there, will it collapse? Almost half ton leh.

I took a video of us crossing the bridge, Chris was shaking while passing the bridge. Hahaha. He never walked pass the bridge in Sabah bah.. those more chi gek. Whole bridge only made up of few boards and rusty steel cable. I reckon the bridge here are pretty solid, even 6 elephants also can stand on it. Oh, I wasn’t holding anything while walk pass the bridge.. cause I have to hold on my camera.

Walk pass bridge jeh mah.. sap sap sui lah. Ahbing 1 : 0 Sarawak Samseng.

Then, Chris and I climbed the tall tree. There were two decks above the tree, maximum only two people. We don’t want to drive 90 minutes here again, so we decided to climb this tree once and for all. I did not bring my camera up because I don’t have a pocket :(

At this point, we only realised that the bridge we crossed… were almost 8 storeys high o.O

We climbed to the top of the tree with extreme caution. When we reached the tallest deck, we can feel that the deck was shaking.. those rusty decks are like 30 years old. I straight away feel a bit “chill”.. haha. I would not climb this tree if I have no confident on my physical fitness. It’s scary ok.

When we’re on top of the tree… we’re 12 storeys high. We are standing on a rusty deck with no safety net below it. We-did-not-dare-to-move-an-inch. We hold on the bar as tightly as we can. Hahaha. We look down the ground.. can’t see any leaves at all because it’s too small. haha.

Nah nah nah.. here’s the prove. hehe.

The girls did not climb the tree.. because what we told them already scared them. Hahaha.

We decided to drive to Gold Coast to have a nice dinner. The girls want to eat Japanese food, and they recommend a really nice restaurant. It’s called Yuuka or Yuuga.. I forgot. The price is reasonable. The ingredients were fresh, but it’s a bit small portion la.

These are some of the foods we ordered. Soft shell crab, raw egg tuna, raw marinated octopus and takoyaki. Chris wasn’t too happy because he dislike raw food hahahah.

Ok that’s the end of my Mount Tamborine Road Trip. I reckon I’ll go again next time when I have a car. Still have many places we haven’t visit. No more National Park - definitely.

P/S: I lazy proof read in this post cause I am rushing to sport.
