Last week, I prepared a plate of toasted pumpkins and a plate of nachos for dinner. These dishes are pretty simple to prepare and it’s still within my comfort zone. Let’s see, what can I talk about a plate of roast pumpkins and some tasty nachos. Hmm, let’s start with pumpkin first.
Let me ask you guys a question. Pumpkin is fruit or vegetable?
The moment I ask you this question, you unconsciously ask yourself.. “ya hor, is pumpkin vegetable or fruit? Oh my god I never ask myself that question.” You feel glad cause Ah Bing brought up this question, right?
Allow me to give you the answer..
Surprisingly (maybe not), the answer is.. vegetable.
Muahahahhah. Why would I ask that? I have no idea too. I am just simply typing as many bullshit as I can. Are you still following me? Good. Let’s proceed to next topic, the nachos.
God is dead. Nachos are not – Friedrich Nietzsche
Why would Friedrich say that? I have no idea too. I simply type in “Nachos quotes” in Google and that’s the result they showed me.
Until now, are you asking yourself, “why ahbing today so mouliu, keep saying all sorts of stupid things?” You see, I am trying to think like a philosopher. A philosopher is a person who only think think think, talk talk talk.. but have no action.
Knock on the sky and listen to the sound – Zen Saying
I don’t even know what that means! Sheeesh. Philosopher. I am a man with action, wooo!
*ahem* Ohhh sorry, I wanna talk about nachos, end up talking so much bullshit. Okok come back come back
Imagine, you are presented a plate of hot nachos in front of you. And the middle part filled with juicy minced beef, creamy sour cream, hot sizzling cheese and some freshly diced tomatoes. BUT, the side of the dish are usually “clean” nachos. No toppings. My question is,
Would you mix up the whole plate of nachos, or eat the “clean” nachos first, and leave the best part for the end?
For me, personally I would:
1) Clear the “clean” nachos
The nachos at side of the plate are usually the crunchy ones. A bit salty taste, something I like for my first bite. Eventually build up the taste and flavour towards the inner side of nachos.
2) Mix the toppings
After I cleared the clean nachos, I’ll mix up the melted cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes and whatsoever that’s on the toppings. They are meant to be TOGETHER. I don’t like to separate it. Some like to dip with sour cream, some with cheese only, and so on. But usually the nachos are in middle are not that crunchy anymore.
3) Eat with a fork
When the nachos are not that crunchy anymore, I use fork. I personally think it is not hygienic the handle nachos which have soaked up all the juices from mince beef, sour cream and tomato juice. Fork is my choice.
4) The leftover cheese
Aha! This is the best part. If the nachos is filled with lots of cheese, the toasted cheese on the side of the plate tastes the best! The cheese usually become crunchy crunchy. Taste like salty cheesy keropok flavor when you eat it.
How do you eat your nachos? I want to hear your opinion.
P/S: Somehow the word “pumpkin” reminds me of Yvonne Tan. Hello Yvonne, are you reading my blog? Let’s go Shenanigans.
