Street Food 1:0 Bing. Bing Poisoned by Food, and Survived (17/30 Indochina Backpack Trip)

P1040882

After 2 weeks of relentless street food eating at street side, I ran outta luck – I had my first diarrhea today morning.

I assume it’s a slight food poisoning, I am feeling a bit nausea too.

Breakfast for champs

My feet wobbles when I wake up, it’s not even funny. However, that doesn’t stop me from having beer for breakfast! #breakfastforchamps

Beerlao FTW!

No street food for now. We had our breakfast at an Aussie bar. How awesome right… western food in Laos.

Breakfast for champions – 10,000th tweet

Wow, it’s my 10,000th tweet… imagine I spend 30 seconds writing one tweet. I’ve invested so much time into social media. w00t. Don’t know the time and effort invested is worth or not yet. Follow me on twitter.

Home to rest, toilet is my best friend

Gotta buy some snacks from grocery stores, and no street food for… the few hours ;)

Took some power naps while Shannon asked his brother for prescriptions. Owe him big time!

Tuk-tuk for the weak

Too weak for bicycle or walk – so we take tuk tuk! We kena makan liao la this time… 20,000kip (RM12) for a ride to market, which is like 15 minutes walking distance only.

Diarrhea guy + raining = pay money for tuk tuk. Weak!

Phu Sii temple

According to Lonely Planet guide, the temple has one of the best-est view in Luang Prabang especially during sunset. It was cloudy the day before, and it’s the same today so we give no fuck just climb the hill (I lost 3kg after climbing this hill). Entrance fee is 20,000kip (RM12) per entrance, not cheap for scenary view and photo taking. But since we’re here so bo bian.

Challenging Street Food again (sort of)

Well, I thought my appetite will return in evening but I was wrong. I don’t feel like eating anything yet so Shannon bought some BBQ meat for dinner. I have no problem eating street food to be honest but low appetite really makes me, blerh.

Shannon enjoying his chicken while looking over the river

Bing enjoying his chicken in toilet. Anything Bing eats – comes out immediately, lololol.

The more I eat the more uncomfortable my stomach feels. pfft.

No food for remaining day!

Pity Shannon has to join me “fasting” for the rest of the day too.

Pills from pharmacy

Bought some pills to stop my diarrhea at the pharmacy shop. We are taking malaria pills daily (antibiotic), but now I have to stop eating that because I am eating a new antibiotic called Ciprocep 500.

I also have to take charcoal pills and another diarrhea pill too so that’s 14 pills for me daily.

o.O”

I can endure diarrhea pain but I cannot go on 10 hours bus ride with diarrhea. Not even a bus with toilet.

Sabye Sabye Massage at Luang Prabang

We had the Laos Traditional Massage package and it was good, really really good. It focuses on pain points – it was painful at certain spots but it was a pleasurable pain.

I have to endure my fart the whole massage process. I cannot afford to let it out because there’s 6 people in the room including myself.

Maybe next time, I can release the fart and say “hey Shannon you no manners!” but I only thought of that after massage is done.

Heiya Bing is ninja!

They say you cannot go shower within 2 hours of massage, or else you will 风湿 (don’t know what’s that in Chinese).

It was raining cats and dogs while we walk back hotel so I have to use whatever means to prevent myself from being wet.

Where am I now?

Luang Prabang, Laos.

Going to Vang Vieng tomorrow (10 hours bus ride)

Charcoal pill is good and it works like magic.

BTW, remember to bring some plastic bags as you may need it during your bus journey. ;)

    •  @WooiKhiangTeoh I probably need the plastic to shit more than vomit.lol. I am not afraid of vomit or nausea… I am truly afraid of holding back my shit during long bus trip.I’ll be seeing you in 2 more weeks!

  2. get well soon Bing!
your backpack tour’s blog is indeed very addictive!
look forward to your new post ;)

    •  @CJYong Now my legs still wobbles as I’m writing this lol. It’s been 3 weeks since I’m on road and it’s “low peak” for time being.. the final week in Bangkok will be crazy. lol. Thanks for your well wishes!
